Your Eyes
You speak words dripping
with honey but you lie.
Your eyes merely mirrors
deflect the questions in
my own reveal nothing
of what is in your heart.

words dripping with honey ... Wonderfully written!
Some smooth operators are like that, huh? I enjoyed readign this poem, CJ.
Nice poem, there are always those that say one thing and mean another, but the eyes are hard to lie.
I love this line "your eyes merely mirrors" because more often than not with people such as these we see only what we want to - either the best or worst of ourselves
The biggest question: what
is in another's heart.
I could be wrong, but I think I'm guessing who inspired this one.
=)
PS. Well done, CJ.
